The simple approach and ethos from Christchurch Architects, PRAU, was to emphasise the quality of living for the inhabitant.

Both homes open to the north and have their own private courtyards. With limited breakup in the rooms and open sightlines, the spaces feel welcoming. The relationship to the site has been carefully considered. Both homes are standalone and have separate access, meaning they are very much individual to one another.

Not your Average Houses
Both Dwell & PRAU have worked together to create these two limited edition houses.
Material choice is important for longevity, aesthetics, and the reduction of long-term maintenance. Separating the two houses to be their own individual spaces makes them special, independent, and overall a better space to inhabit.
The first edition is the street front home, providing two-bedroom accommodation with both living & dining, and an internal access garage. The arrangement of the home allows it to stand alone with its own access and superb connection to the outdoor areas. Visibility and clear sightlines from the dining, kitchen, and living areas, and onward to the northern courtyard, suggest inside & out are applied living space.

The second edition is the rear sited home, providing three-bedroom accommodation. The position allows for a larger open plan living room, L-shaped kitchen, and a guest WC which you will find in a private position on the way to the internal access garage.
